Knowing what beauty products to take on a long haul flight can be a little daunting. Especially when there are so many different products on the market to choose from. I personally find keeping my beauty edit simple for a long haul flight is best. Believe me when I say this, long haul flying is extremely dehydrating on your body. Whilst you are constantly reminded to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, remember to keep you skin moisturised as well. It is the largest organ in the human body after all.

My mother has the most impeccable skin and I feel very blessed she passed on her wisdom to me. She believes the less you put on your skin, the more you are allowing it to breath and glow from within. With this in mind, and my experience as a flight attendant for Virgin Australia many moons ago, my long haul beauty edit comes from parental lessons and my own personal experience. It is simple and fuss free, with all products available to purchase from your local supermarket in Australia. So after years of travelling, I believe there are four key essentials to keeping your skin moisturised, supple and dewy whilst travelling.

Face Wipes: Simple Skin Care Toner: People for Plants Rose Mist Moisturiser: Olay Complete UV Lotion Balm: Lucas PawPaw

I also prefer to travel make-up free. I want my skin to breath and not to feel clogged from heavy creams and foundations. In saying that, when I arrive at my destination I do like to throw on some light make-up. After completing my beauty regime above I apply a fine layer of Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse cover, followed by a couple of brush strokes of MAC Love Cloud Powder Blush and Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara. Surprised not to see concealer in my beauty edit? Again, following my mothers advice I really believe less is more.

Between long haul flights I am desperate to freshen up and have a shower. Thankfully most international airports have lounges you can pay to use. Hello showers! Aēsop’s Jet Set Kit is my go-to for achieving first-class skin between long haul flights. Complete with travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, cleanser and a balm, this travel kit compliments my existing beauty edit perfectly. The kit includes the following:

- Classic Shampoo: A gentle formulation to carefully cleanse hair, leaving it shiny, soft and hydrated - Classic Conditioner: A lightly nourishing conditioner to soften, add shine and hydrate hair - Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser: Aromatic hand and body cleanser, it’s a fabulous alternative to regular soap - Rind Concentrate Body Balm: A fast acting, reviving balm to hydrate boosted with citrus, aloe and carrot extract
