If you haven’t signed up to my newsletter or if you don’t follow me on Instagram, then you won’t know I am off to Sri Lanka and the Maldives on Thursday for two blissful weeks of adventuring and relaxing. And whilst I have spent the last few days running around like a madwoman making sure I remember to pack everything I need, it’s made me think about every trip I’ve been on and how there is something I always forget to pack. Even with my improved list making skills, or lack thereof, I always forget something. Whether it’s my sunscreen, socks or watch, it’s always something. So you don’t keep making my same mistake, here are 5 things I forget to pack on my holiday in a bid to stop you from doing the same! TOILETRIES Well, I may as well start with the obvious one for me – toiletries! Sunscreen, toothbrush, moisturiser, foundation, shaving razor, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, deodorant, mascara; name your skincare or beauty weapon and I am sure you have forgotten one of these in your holiday history. Luckily airlines and hotels these days have great amenities, and chemists worldwide are fairly cheap!

HEADPHONES Let’s face it, we mostly all fly Economy Class and the headphones suck. I have yet to meet a headphone set in Economy Class I liked. They rarely block the outside noise out and hurt my ears. But at least most airlines offer a free set of headphones on the plane. Just don’t forget to take them with you when you get off the plane so you have the chance (hopefully the headphone jacks are universal) to use them for the rest of your trip.

CHARGERS Phone charger? Check. Laptop charger? Check. Camera charger? Omg no. Yup! If this sounds all too familiar then you’re not alone. I always seem to remember most of my chargers and have often left one or two critical ones at home. But before I start to stress out, I always ask the hotel I am staying at if they can help me. Or fellow travellers. Or airports always have something I can buy last minute. But instead of having to bother someone or buy something, why not invest in a charger bag with a checklist! You can use this bag and list every time you travel to make sure you don’t leave anything at home.

CASH Every time I head on a trip, I am literally ticking things off my To Do List right up until I board my flight. Is it just me or are the couple of days before you head off always the busiest?! The one thing I always forget is to pre organise cash for the destination I am arriving in. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve arrived at a foreign airport wanting to buy a bottle of water and not having any cash to buy this with. Super annoying! At worst I’ve had to run around trying to find an ATM only to incur heavy fees, so ensure you always have at least $100 of the local currency in your wallet before that plane takes off.

CONVERTORS This is the very item I always forget. Without fail. I must have a graveyard of convertors somewhere at home; when I don’t need them, I can always find them and when I do need them, I can never find them. Luckily most airports will have convertors for you to buy before you jump on the plane. This is always my failsafe. Or recently I’ve noticed a lot of hotels have the universal convertors, which they give to guests to use.

What about you! What things are you always forgetting to pack on your travels?
