Recently I flew to Bali with Jetstar to take part in Boeing’s FlyTheDream campaign to celebrating the Dreamliner operating over 100,000 commercial flights (that's the equivalent to 415 round trips to the moon) and carrying over 20 million passengers (that’s four times the entire population of Norway) – see here. So how was the new Double Six in Seminyak? I’ve got one word – luxurious. Arriving at the airport in Denpasar, I was greeted by a very welcoming driver and host. Whisking me away in a sleek white van through the bustling streets of Kuta and Seminyak, we arrived at the hotel a short 30 minutes later.

I was taken to my spacious room where my host showed me the key features including:

• An extravagant bathroom featuring a freestanding bath, separate rain forest shower and toilet, first class amenities, television and two vanity areas with sinks and a couch • Open planned bedroom and entertaining area • Large king sized bed with complimentary slippers, robes and decadent floral arrangements • Large entertaining area with an L-shape couch, coffee table, free standing seats, rotating television, bar, beverages, mini bar and a complimentary fruit bowl and bottles of water • Private outdoor entertaining area including a couch, seats and a table with cascading palm trees overhead. And just a short step and hop, I found myself able to dive into the hotel’s 120-metre swimming pool, and beyond – direct views of the beach!

Whilst showing me how to use the television and air conditioning, a special cocktail was mixed and stirred in front of me. Taking a sip, I felt immediately tired after my late night flight so when the host and butler left, I ran a hot bubble bath, grabbed my book and settled in for the night.

The following morning my schedule was eat, read, relax and sleep – on repeat. For breakfast each morning I made my way to the hotels famed restaurant, Seminyak Italian Food. Breakfast was included with my booking and I was able to choose anything from the menu. I highly recommend the dragon fruit juice, the avocado and goat’s cheese on toast and the fine cut seasonal fruit with kiwi fruit consommé and strawberry honey.

Following this I did what I only had left to do – I relaxed poolside, soaked up the sun, atmosphere and swim in the beautiful pool. For dinner at Seminyak Italian Food, you cannot go past the:

• Mozzarella ala Caprese of cows milk mozzarella dressed in Greek yoghurt, baby tomatoes and basil • Selection of small goods including mortadella, salami, prosciutto and beef bresola • Broccoli Orecchietti of steamed smashed broccoli with anchovies and chilli

Whilst I was only in Bali for a couple of days, I managed to find time to indulge in a hydrotherapy treatment and full body massage at the hotel’s spa, Acqua Perla Spa.
