Recently after a day of hiking around the pristine sand dunes under the warm winter sun at Nambung National Park in Western Australia, I jumped into my hire car (thanks Bugdet!) and drove two hours south to Perth. With one night to spend in the stunning city, I wanted to stay close to the CBD and airport. My flight was due to leave the following morning and I wanted to maximize my time as much as possible. Choosing the right accommodation in a new city can be quite daunting with so many travel websites vying for attention.

After some research and a couple of recommendations, I decided to stay at the award winning Fraser Suites. Offering 236 residences for short and long stays, Fraser Suites is perfect for those looking for a long holiday or a weekend getaway. Centrally located on the edge of the CBD with stunning views of the Swan River, I arrived in the afternoon to a very warm welcome from the reception team.

My booking included free Wi-Fi, a secure park for my car and buffet breakfast. After a seamless check-in, I wheeled my brand new Antler suitcase (hello four wheels!) over to the elevator and took a ride up to level 15. I always love that feeling just before you swipe your key at a hotel door. I always think ‘what will the room look like?’, ‘Will I have a good view?’ And I wasn’t disappointed.

Setting new benchmarks for Perth city apartment accommodation, my room included an impressive dining and lounge area, large kitchen and fridge, sweeping views of the CBD and Swan River, an impressively sized balcony with comfy chairs, separate bedroom with a huge king sized bed and wardrobe, as well as a large ensuite bathroom with a deep bath, large walk in shower and L’Occitane amenities. Hello heaven!

With nothing left to do other than enjoy the luxurious hotel room, after soaking in a hot bubble bath, I jumped into the hotel bath robe, got comfy on the huge couch, put my feet up and enjoyed a movie with the CBD glistening in the background.
